Come Sit With Me Porch Reveal

Welcome Dear Friends

Come, sit with me for a while and check out my beautiful new, comfy, cozy porch…

Come Sit With Me Porch Reveal/ Snippets of Design

As I’ve stated before, I absolutely love the porch off my bedroom.  For years I didn’t use it but a couple of years ago, one of my very best friends convinced me to start using it and honestly, it is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.  It has the perfect amount of shade, sun, and cool breeze.  It doesn’t matter what mood I am in, it ALWAYS calms me down.  It fills my cup and it ALWAYS makes me happy.

I had never decorated my porch however.

We had placed a couple of chairs on it.  Then for Mother’s Day last year my family bought me a wrought iron table off the classifieds.  We added baskets and flowers and a couple of lanterns but everything

was simply placed out there without much order.

It was kind of hideous but I loved it anyways.

I decided however, that it was time to move on, to do something warm & inviting with my favorite porch. I didn’t want to change the shabby-chic paint job, {not yet anyways} but I wanted to change the cushions, pillows, furniture, decor and plants to create a space where I would want to spend all summer.  I wanted a shabby-chic feel with vintage charm.  Large cushy pillows, books, a white tea set, dishes, and somehow a casual & dressed up feel all in one.

Here is the design board I created for this project.

I was able to find professional fabrics on clearance for $2 a yard!  Can you believe that?  That is cheaper than I could have found them for at Wal-Mart!  It meant however that I had plenty of beautiful woven material for large pillows and ruffles…all the romantic things that add charm when you are creating a romantic “girlie” porch.

So, here it is, my happy place revealed.  What do you think?
