In celebration of these new invitations, Evite is holding a #pawtypeople pet photo contest. If you think your pet is #1, share them with us!  Enter your favorite picture of them enjoying the summer (you are welcome to co-star if you would like).

The photograph that receives the most votes will receive a personalized digital drawing of their precious pal created by one of Evite’s personal designers.

They will also reach a new level of fame because they will be featured on their very own Evite invitation on Evite.com!

We celebrated the release of these adorable invitations by throwing a birthday party for our friend’s dog Bonita.

Pet Party 1

Look how happy she looks. (I think she loved it).

Pet Party 3

To create your own dog party or dog theme party, start out with setting the table.

Pet Party 4

The table needed to be down towards the ground for the dogs so I created a planked tabletop using 1″x 3″pine.

To make your own:

  • Lay the boards down and place two of the same boards across them.
  • Screw them in place with a screw gun.
  • Rough it up using a hammer, screws, nails, and a mallet.
  • Stain it and rub it with some finishing wax.

Pet Party 2

Mason jars full of bone shaped doggie treats worked great as a treat for our party guest.

You can duplicate these using the tag download I have included below.

Placing the treat jars in off-white doggie bowls and setting those on green and off white polka dotted plates really finishes it off.

*The Doggie Bowls are Martha Stewart from Petsmart.  The plates are from Target.

Pet Party 5

For fun, each of the dogs received their own party costume which included a collar with a bow on it and party hat.

Pet Party 6

To create the collars, take a length of ribbon and measure your dog’s neck.   Add on an extra 1″.  Fold the ends of the ribbon over twice and adhere in place..  Sew or glue a hook and eye on the ends.  Cut a 5″ length of white ribbon.

Fold it into a loop, flatten it in the middle of the collar, opposite the hook and eye.

Wrap a 1 1/2″ inch ribbon around it adhering it in the back.

*The ribbons are from English Ribbons and JoAnn Fabrics

Doggie Party 9

Create the hats by cutting them out using your scissors or Cricut machine.  Wrap them around and adhere them in place.

Trim them with pom poms or a fun edging of some kind.

Pet Party 6

Pet Party 7

Humans need food too and cupcakes and lemonade are the perfect fit.

Pet Party 8

Wrap tags around the mason jar drinks and adhere the cupcake toppers to toothpicks to decorate the human treats.
