{Fabric} Wallflowers
Years ago, {no joke} my sister Angela & I discussed upholstering flowers
& attaching them to the wall in her daughter’s room.
It never actually happened but as soon as I started Snippets of Design
we decided to “get em done”!
Angela has 5 kids of her own & she babysits a number of other children
so I had lots of wonderful help :)
{& so many cute, willing models!}
As you can see this was our b4 picture.
It is not the whole room
but this is just a step in the re-decorating process of their room
so make sure you follow my feed so you don’t miss the remaining steps. ;)
This is our “faded, heavenly, dreamy, after picture”…haha! :)
{filled with my favorite models of course!} ;)
This is more what the flowers really look like:
To start with, I traced the petals & centers
with chalk onto foam board.

After you print out, cut out, & trace the patterns,
use an Exacto knife to cut them out of the foam board.
Cut Pieces of batting & fabric large enough to wrap around the edges of the flowers
& centers making sure that the fabric pieces are larger than the batting pieces.
Use a glue gun to glue the fabric & batting into place on the back-side, pulling the fabric tightly.
We ended up using very small sewing pins to attach the flowers to the wall.
They worked great!
I am kind of excited to finish the rest of the room.
the flowers look cuter than expected in person.
I still think the wall color is kind of intense but we can change that if needed. :)
We have a lot of fun ideas in store & the girls couldn’t be happier with their flowers!
