I work mostly from my home. I love it. I get to set my own hours and wear my sweats. I even get to work in the middle of the night if I choose to. It’s pretty cool.
I readily admit, I have the best job ever.
I have three different work spaces in my home (four, if you count my kitchen). I have an office, in my bedroom with my computer, laptop, & cricut. I have a sewing area where I keep my sewing and embroidery machines. I also have a small photography studio.
This works out nicely for me and my family right now, it gives me the space I need and it allows my kids to all have their own rooms. Work is becoming a more demanding lately however so I have daydreamt about combining my work spaces.
Here are a few ideas I adore:
I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the studio seen here and the one above it. I love the rustic white and wood details, the windows, the desks and the lighting. I have pinned them to my Pinterest pages and my We heart it pages. Every time I see them my heart flutters.
The desk pictured in the bottom photo is from IKEA. I have the same legs on the tables in my sewing room. They are my favorite! I would definitely recommend them.
I found this photograph on Crush Cul de Sac
Look at this amazing office decorated by designer Denis Krasikov, Isn’t it awesome? I love it’s brick walls, rustic furniture, large black & white quotes, tufted white chair, industrial lighting…I love so many things about this room. He did an amazing job.
This office from Post Card From Paris is so glamorous. I would feel very fancy in it which could actually help me get more work done. ;-P
If you have been hanging around my blog for any time at all, you have probably noticed that I am admittedly very attracted to the white, black, and gray, modern industrial cottage look. I just can’t get enough of it. I love the feel of it, the colors, and the textures involved. Here are just a few that I’m attracted to…
I would definitely add some black & white quotes to my office as well…
Isn’t this loft style studio from Blood and Champagne beautiful with all of its character and personality?
Of course Pottery Barn has a few ideas I like as well, I can always count on them.
As far as Craft rooms go, Martha Stewart has the best by far, no contest. “Swoon…”
I would of course, like a bigger photography studio as well. I REALLY LIKE this one from Evelyne Home Interiors.
Working from home is great but sometimes you need to meet with clients or hold a meeting in a nice conference room. WeWork is great for that. They are located in major cities around the world and they offer office space for rent to the small business owner. You can rent a desk, an office, a room, or more for an hour, a day, a month, or as long you need. What a great idea! It’s a step up from the coffee-house and since you can rent an office or a desk, it can help you do what you love with the added benefit of feeling social and part of a team.
Hopefully this gives you some ideas for your own home or office.
