My family room was in need of a re-fresh. This became the perfect opportunity to create the eclectic, rustic, boho-style black and white room that I have always wanted.
This also meant that I could decorate with these stunning wall baskets from Rwanda and that I have always wanted to use.
It also meant that I could include things like cowboy boots,
Pine trees, throws, geometric pillows,
geometric metal shapes, and raw cotton.
Hand made items are also a nice addition.
The wooden boxes are filled with family games. I used a wood burner to decorate the outside.
If you would like to also create this DIY project, follow the instructions on your wood burner after using the following download and a ruler to draw the designs on your boxes.
I found the games in the $1 Section at Target®
Metals and geometric shapes are also a nice addition.
Pillows, throws, and things that make you feel cozy and pampered are also very important.
When selecting pillows for a Bohemian styled room, choose a mix of fabrics. Change up shapes and textures. Include soft, thick, thin, natural, and embroidered fabrics. Faux fur and geometric shapes will add interest.
Textures and woven fabric or rugs help add texture and interest.
It’s worth spending a little more money on special items you love like these hand-made Rwanda wall baskets from Africa.
They are stunning in person and they help to create a wonderful focal point.
I’m obsessed with mine. I love them so much and
I’m amazed by the talent of the people who make them.
I created these pineapple coasters for this room.

Rustic plants and greenery are fun to use.
Cacti and succulents are a great option. They are fun on tables and they look great hanging from the ceiling.
I love adding a pair of boots or shoes when I stage a room. Something that goes with the design. This was the perfect opportunity to throw some cowboy boots in the decor. You can find some great cowgirl boots on the King Ranch website.
