Here’s how to create your own…

S'mores Bar Roasting Homemade Marshmallows

To host an indoor s’mores bar, you will need a way to roast your marshmallows.

I have tried a lot of methods including fire-pits, stove tops, microwaves, and fire places.  By far, the most effective and safest in the winter time is an indoor table top fire place.  My favorite is the Sutton table top gel fireplace

I like the way it looks, how easy it is to use, and that it’s the perfect size and shape for my coffee table and my inside and outside dining tables.

I like that it’s so versatile and easy to move around.

All you need is a gel chafing burner to put inside it and you’re set to go.

Here’s a video showing how to use a table top fireplace.

You will also need homemade marshmallows or bought (preferably square) pre-made marshmallows.

I displayed them in bowls and baskets.  You can also use jars like in this post, if you prefer.

If you haven’t tried them before, I would suggest using fudge striped cookies instead of graham crackers.  They taste great and make less of a mess.

You will also need a way to display the cookies, I used a plaid plate stand that I found at HomeGoods.  You can find a similar one here.  I love the Denver plaid plate stand so much that I bought these matching square appetizer plates as well.  I think they would be great for a s’mores bar.  I also like the matching bowls for holding the marshmallows and the matching mugs for serving warm drinks.

You will need mugs for hot chocolate, coffee, or a similar warm drink because your guests will get thirsty.

You will also need some beautiful fabric napkins to clean up sugared lips and little messes.

and finally, you will need skewers to roast your marshmallows.  These ones with wood handles worked great and look lovely.  They were also a great price.  You can find them here.

I hope you are having a cozy holiday season with your friends and loved ones.

Happy DIYing friends!
