Country cottage holiday gift exchange

Evite® invited me and 5 other Evite Influencers to discover Evite Premium Invitations by bringing one to life.  This is the invitation I was requested to use for inspiration.

You can explore the other parties and check out Evite’s holiday promotion (more on that later!) here.

I love traditional Christmas plaid mixed with the old-fashioned, cottage/farmhouse feel of this invitation so I was excited to accept the challenge. Not to mention, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to set up a cozy party in the she shed because, as you know, I’m a sucker for details and lovely settings…

To throw a similar party, you will need:

  • Invitations
  • Guests
  • A place to hold your event
  • Decor
  • Refreshments
  • Gifts

Thanks to Evite, inviting your guests is a breeze.  You can even do it from your phone like I did.  Simply go to Evite.com on your mobile device or download the mobile app and choose your Premium Invitation.

Fill out your details and add your guests’ phone numbers to invite them by text.

Then send out your invitation! It’s that easy.

Plus, Evite is running a promotion right now. If you send out an Evite Premium Invitation by Jan. 2, Evite will give you your Premium Holiday Cards for FREE!

Decorating to match this invitation is simple as well.  Start by shopping for holiday plaids, ribbons, wrapping paper, linens, etc.   Then wrap a ton of empty boxes to look like presents to match the invitation.  This is a great decorating trick for the holidays because it’s so cheap and easy to create.

Add in some “greenery” in the form of pine trees and wreaths.

Create the wreaths by wiring winter berry branches to grape-vine wreaths.  Then hang them with plaid or buffalo check red and black wired ribbon.  You can also tie some ribbon bows on the wreaths and trees

I decided to add tin into the décor, not only because it is pretty but also because it is useful.

The tin monogram letters are for decoration plus they add a personal touch to help each of the guests feel special and they double as a gift.

They also pair nicely with these pine tree name cards and the small oval bucket I included for mints

The tins on the table however, are not just for looks.  They create a small fondue bar & they hold the items for the guests to dip into fondue.

This brings us to the refreshments.  I wanted something fun, easy, and interactive so I decided that fondue would be fun.

Plus, fondue pots double great as centerpieces.

If you have a main course style fondue and a dessert fondue, you can provide a whole meal with minimal effort.  Not to mention, people really seem to enjoy it.

After lunch/dinner, it’s time for the gift exchange.  Make sure everyone brings a gift or two to exchange. A fun twist on the average gift exchange is to hold an auction with play money.  Give each guest an envelope full of play money and let the bidding begin!

Here is some Holiday Play Money for you to print and use.
